ONGOING FOOD DRIVE FOR SHARE OURSELVES

As food shortages become more acute in our community, MVUMC has an opportunity to provide shelf-stable food on a regular basis to Share Ourselves (SOS) in Costa Mesa.

Examples of food for donation include:

—Rice, pasta, dried beans, boxed Mac and Cheese

—Boxed cereal; oatmeal packets

—Canned vegetables; tuna in pouches

—Peanut butter

—Snacks such as crackers, granola bars, cookies

—Applesauce in small sizes (6-pack)

—Juice boxes; instant coffee

Donations can be placed in the large tub in the church Narthex. Please consider making donations as you feel led, possibly when you find something on sale. We will get food to SOS on a routine schedule. Thank you for partnering with you on this worthwhile endeavor. Our congregation continues to generously support all of the Missions programs, sharing God’s love with those in need.

OCTOBER MISSION BUCKS--FRESH BEGINNINGS

Mission Bucks for October will support Fresh Beginnings, a faith-based, multi-denominational, volunteer organization in Orange County that assists those experiencing homelessness and near homelessness, including veterans and their families. Basic needs such as food, personal hygiene items, access to local shelters, education in job interview skills, and computer skill programs are offered. The organization extends compassion and goodwill to all regardless of race, religion, or ethnicity. Your contribution will enable the organization to assist families and vets in need, as well as support local community shelters.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING HOMELESS & AT-RISK POPULATIONS IN COSTA MESA & ORANGE COUNTY

JOIN US IN PRAYER FOR COSTA MESA

Prayer fuels everything else. We join churches, leaders, and residents of Costa Mesa to foster city-wide transformation, unity, and collaboration and to address spiritual, relational, and practical challenges. When we seek God, he unites hearts, renews vision, and releases breakthroughs for Costa Mesa. Prayer points will be updated on an ongoing basis.

Thanks for keeping the prayer wheel turning with prayers for our community:

• Pray for peace and wisdom for families navigating financial pressure.

• Pray for those who feel unseen, lonely, or disconnected.

• Pray for compassionate, effective support for people experiencing homelessness.

• Pray for long-term housing pathways that restore dignity and stability.

• Pray for the elderly to receive care, safety, and meaningful presence.

• Pray for immigrant families to experience security, access to help, and peace.

“Let us not grow weary of doing good…” — Galatians 6:9
