ONGOING FOOD DRIVE FOR COSTA MESA
As food shortages become more acute in our community, MVUMC has an opportunity to provide shelf-stable food on a regular basis to Share Ourselves (SOS) in Costa Mesa.
Examples of food for donation include:
—Rice, pasta, dried beans, boxed Mac and Cheese
—Boxed cereal; oatmeal packets
—Tuna in pouches
—Peanut butter
—Instant coffee
—Snacks such as crackers, granola bars, cookies
—Applesauce in small sizes (6-pack)
—Juice boxes
Donations can be placed in the large tub in the church Narthex. Please consider making donations as you feel led, possibly when you find something on sale. We will get food to SOS on a routine schedule. Thank you for partnering with you on this worthwhile endeavor. Our congregation continues to generously support all of the Missions programs, sharing God’s love with those in need.
NEXT RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVES:
Tuesday, June 30, 2026 -- 12 pm–5 pm
The Missions Committee will be hosting our monthly Red Cross Blood Drives in Fellowship Hall. Sign up online at redcrossblood.org. A donation time will be provided.
THANK YOU—The May 2026 blood drive resulted in 17 pints of blood — enough to help save up to 51 hospital patient lives in local hospitals. Thank you for your continued support. MVUMC has donated more than 500 gallons.
UPCOMING MISSION BUCKS:
JUNE MISSION BUCKS–LOTS (LIFE ON THE STREETS)
June Mission Bucks will support LOTS (Life on the Streets). LOTS is a Christian ministry dedicated to serving those in need by providing breakfast, sack lunches, showers, clothing, laundry services, and haircuts every Saturday at Crossings Church in Costa Mesa. These services were previously offered by Trellis. However, Trellis has since shifted its focus to counseling, skills training, and assisting individuals in securing housing.
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING HOMELESS & AT-RISK POPULATIONS IN COSTA MESA & ORANGE COUNTY
JOIN US IN PRAYER FOR COSTA MESA
We want to come alongside other churches, leaders, and residents of Costa Mesa to foster city-wide transformation, unity, and collaboration and to address spiritual, relational, and practical challenges. When we seek God, he unites hearts, renews vision, and releases breakthrough for Costa Mesa. Prayer points will be posted on an ongoing basis.
Thanks for keeping the prayer wheel turning. Let's begin with prayer for our city's pastors:
—Pray for each pastor to encounter God in a deeper way, and for their communities to deepen in closeness with God in 2026.
—Pray for spiritual protection and blessing over every church.
—Pray for pastors to put down church/denominational differences, and take ownership of pursuing real unity in the city.
