NEW ONGOING FOOD DRIVE FOR COSTA MESA
As food shortages become more acute in our community, MVUMC has an opportunity to provide shelf-stable food on a regular basis to Share Ourselves (SOS) in Costa Mesa.
Examples of food for donation include:
—Rice, pasta, dried beans, boxed Mac and Cheese
—Boxed cereal; oatmeal packets
—Tuna in pouches
—Peanut butter
—Instant coffee
—Snacks such as crackers, granola bars, cookies
—Applesauce in small sizes (6-pack)
—Juice boxes
Donations can be placed in the large tub in the church Narthex. Please consider making donations as you feel led, possibly when you find something on sale. We will get food to SOS on a routine schedule. Thank you for partnering with you on this worthwhile endeavor. Our congregation continues to generously support all of the Missions programs, sharing God’s love with those in need.
NEXT RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE: Thursday, February 26 10 am–4 pm
The Missions Committee will be hosting our monthly Red Cross Blood Drive in the Fellowship Hall. Sign up online at redcrossblood.org. A donation time will be provided.
THANK YOU—The January 2026 blood drive resulted in 14 pints of blood — enough to help save up to 42 hospital patient lives. Thank you for your continued support. MVUMC has donated more than 500 gallons.
UPCOMING MISSION BUCKS
FEBRUARY MISSION BUCKS will go toward replenishing the Pastor's Discretionary Fund. This fund is a vital resource provided by many United Methodist Churches, enabling pastoral leadership to offer confidential financial assistance to families and individuals in need. It supports immediate and critical needs within the congregation and community, including emergency food and other urgent aid. You may contribute by placing a designated donation in the offering plate, mailing a check to the church, or donating online at mesaverdeumc.org. Thank you for supporting this important outreach.
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING HOMELESS & AT-RISK POPULATIONS IN COSTA MESA & ORANGE COUNTY
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING OPERATION SANTA CLAUS!
In November and December, toys and gift cards were collected for Operation Santa Claus to benefit disadvantaged children and seniors in Orange County. We are so grateful to our congregations for your generous donations! These toys and gifts were used to help share the joy of Christmas through Operation Santa Claus, a program coordinated by the Orange County Social Services Agency. This outreach provides gifts and toys to children who are abandoned, neglected, abused, in foster care, or are from disadvantaged families. The program also serves low-income adults who are elderly or severely disabled.
Your generosity helped brighten the holidays for the most vulnerable in the community. Thank you for sharing Christ's love during the Christmas season!
